friday favorites and random

i am cleaning and organizing like its nobodies business!  phewsh!

i think i found 32 ponytail holders in various area of the house.  really?

i am working on pictures of the boys bunk room!!  finally.  i have had several requests and have put it off for no other reason than i didn’t have pictures.  soon.  very soon.

tomorrow night mr. daddy is taking me out to get some running shoes.  that’s all i’m going to say.
then we’re going to our favorite tapas restaurant with my brother in law and new sister in law!  so much to look forward to.

okay.  on with the favorites.  and i must say these are FAVES!

FIRST:  origins VitaZing.

i put this on in the morning after i wash my face and apply acne spot treatment (yes i still use that stuff even though i’m 32)

then i put this on my face….its glorious.  it is a light moisturizer, but it has teeeeeny tiny capsules that burst/pop open/disolve when you blend it on.  its like a slight tint but sooo subtle.  i would say it would work with any skin color.  really.  its hard to explain.  i bought mine at macy’s.

i use this on days that i just want a light and natural look.  i follow up with my MAC pressed mineral powder and a little blush and mascara and off i go.

SECOND:  Shark Cordless Stik Vac
i use this 5 times a day, at least.  on my hardwood floors, slate, and vinyl (the schoolroom).  i keep it in the pantry and we do pop the battery out between each use to recharge it.  just make it a habit.  
oh, it had two level.  1 for hard surfaces and 2 for carpet.  so i do use it on the area rugs too.
mr. daddy gave me mine for christmas but i’m pretty sure he bought it at bed bath and beyonce.

friday favorites : keeping it real

do you really want to know my favorites?
this man.
and this man with these kids.
everything else in this world will wilt away and never be seen again.
my husband and children are children of God the Father.
and they will be who i see in heaven one day.
living my life for the Lord means i must keep 
other ‘stuff’ in perspective.  
yes, decorating and new houses and clothes
are enjoyable.  no doubt.
BUT ….would i walk away from it without turning back?
yes. yes. and yes.
thank you LORD for my husband and my children.
my heart is full of Your joy!

friday favorites

this has pretty much been my go to brush since high school. 
when my brush has run its course……i go and buy the same one.

adventures in odyssey!  
along with jonathan park, adventures in odyssey are a family favorite!
the children listen most evenings to the daily episode each 
evening on a local radio station that brodcasts  it.  otherwise you can 
go to my link and listen online.
these are great for long car rides too 🙂
what???  you don’t remember everything you learned in history??
that’s fine….i don’t either!! 🙂 🙂
drive thru history will change all of that for you 
and your family!
this makes history come alive!  the host is hilarious (even my 3 year old laughs at him),
and the videography is very captivating.  
we are only on dvd 2 as a family but i must have said at least 3 times
“i never knew that! i would have loved to have been presented with history like this!”

friday favorites

another round of some of my favorite things 🙂 
first up is Cherish and Joy.  they make the little silky that is attached to hank’s thumb every second.  his is backed in red and multi striped on the other side.
the reason i love this company so much is that when i called to find a backup for hank’s discontinued silky the company HAND pieced together another silky for him made up of two sample pieces of the multi striped pieces that his silky is made of.   WHO does that anymore??    
next up is Land’s Ends Tote Bag.  we have the large, navy piped one with our last name and “family” monogrammed on it…so it says: “the ____ family” . i love this tote ….it zips….it stands up…the bottom is dark.  we use it for the beach, for long trips, for overnights etc.
finally….the Dollar Store!! 🙂 can you guess which items below are from this lovely store? the glasses!!!  now i’m talking about the TRUE dollar stores where every item is ONE dollar…. we have four dollar stores around us and only one (the dollar tree) is a true, every-item-in-the-store-is-a-dollar.
i was looking for martini and goblet glass glasses and i found them there!  they are heavy and CUTE!  you would never ever guess dollar store. 🙂  i used them for this drink bar i set up for a bridal shower i helped in hosting for my future sister in law….and these glasses were the perfect low budget touch.  don’t  forget to check out the dollar store people! 🙂

friday favorites!  these are items that i really like in no particular order.  to catch up with my other friday favorite randomness check them out here
first up:   Caldrea Lavender Pine Countertop Cleaner.  delicious!  i’ve been cleaning like a mad woman lately to keep up with realtors coming through our house.  this spray leaves a yummy fragrance and sparkly shine in my kitchen.  (my countertops are granite)

this next item is amazing!  this was a gift to one of the boys but hank has loved it the most.  
the Twilight Sea Turtle by Cloud B  
you press a button and stars light up the ceiling!  it truly is very calming and has even helped keep hank in his bed at night….  it stays on for 45 minutes then shuts off by itself.  there is a plain turtle too that would be just as cute 🙂  
and finally, i have to share that i really like charlotte russe
yup, the teeny bop store in your local mall?  yes, that’s the one.  these two tops are my most recent purchases.  the purple one definitely has an anthro look for way less.  the cardigan i have in cream and wear it open over a dress and other shirts.  the ruffles are cute!
ahhh…and the earrings.  trendy and not expensive.  i know i will be able to pick up a fun pair for date night and not have to worry about breaking the bank.
