I figured now was as good a time as any to snap some pics of the area where we do a majority of our school. I just finished repainting our basement a beautiful soft yellow….which led to selling a couch….which led to sorting through old supplies….which finally led to a fun place to do school!! The table and chairs came from my grandpa and grandma which I painted and recovered.
This is a picture “in the midst” of the makeover..eek!
TA DA!
The kids LOVE to craft with Perler Beads. So we are keeping a few hung up in the corner to display. I love this craft cause it keeps them busy for awhile! :)…oh and the beads are easy to vacuum up, there is no glue or scissors and I can keep them stored away neatly.

Crayons are kept in this old bowl that I found for $2.00 at a local antique shop. Those big chunky circle crayons we made from melting down all our old bits and pieces! This bowl gets set in the middle of the table with a stack of paper often 🙂
This big ‘ol chalkboard was found (along with 2
others) leaning against a dumpster behind a local bakery! After a light washing and some fun paint detail it has turned out to be quite a gem.
These clipboards hold the kiddos weekly Bible verses. I picked up some cute scrapbooking paper and modge podged it on those babies! Their names were also put on with rub-on decals….
…and finally……..my favorite little set of tins in the world that I found at Ikea a few years ago in the bathroom section. We keep pencils/pens/scissors in the tall one and paperclips, tacs, erasers and other odds and ends in the smaller ones!
